For years anglers have tried many ways, with limited success, to be able to use a Dacron or spectra backing and attach either monofilament or fluorocarbon leader and use this for everything from live bait to casting lures or swim baits and even trolling, but the problem still remained. Knots! There are a multitude of knots that can be used. Some easier to tie than others, some stronger and some for very specific applications, but they are still knots and they are the weak point in any line.
Our Wind-On Leaders are of superior quality, using only the finest high quality braided lines, Monofilaments and Fluorocarbons in the fishing industry. Servings are all done one at a time, by hand, in Oregon using only the best tools . Our packaging uses spools with skirts so that leaders can be saved and reused giving you more service life and better organization.
What’s a Wind-On Leader?
Wind-On Leaders can be attached to a reel’s main line, using a loop-to-loop connection, which allows the angler to crank the leader through the rod guides and onto the reel. Standard leaders can’t be reeled any further once the swivel reaches the rod tip.

What’s the difference between a Wind-On Leader and a topshot?
A topshot is a really long Wind-On Leader. Topshots can be attached to a reel’s backing via a loop to loop knotless connection.
What species of fish do I use a Wind-On Leader?
Our lines start at 10lb test and go up to 200lb test, allowing you to fish just about any species. Wind-On Leaders are best used for Line-shy fish, or any time you need to use invisible line. With Wind-On Leaders you get the best of both worlds: the extreme sensitivity, small diameter & positive hook set of braided line, combined with a monofilament or fluorocarbon for invisibility & minimal stretch. The best fish to use Wind-On Leaders are:
